We take pride in our extensive selection of low vision aides

Anyone with a vision loss that traditional eye glasses can't help, may benefit from low vision aides.  No two peoples nees are ever alike.  That's why we inventory the entire Eschenbach tower as well as equipment from Enhanced Visions, Designs for Vision and Magnification Resources.

Many people seeking a vision aide may have macular degeneration.  However, magnifiers and other vision aides may help people with diabetes, glaucoma, stroke and others.  Sometimes they are used by people who have hobbies such as coin or stamp collecting.

Our doctors can do a full scope low vision evaluation to determine the power that is needed to help you utilize your remaining vision to the best of your ability.  After the doctors careful evaluation, they will detail the types and powers of the various vision aides they feel will work best for you.

It is important to seek the evaluation and begin to use vision aides even in the early stages.  It makes learning to use the vision aide easier and allows you to maintain your independence.  It also allows you to keep up to date on daily activities and be interactive with your family and friends.

There are many vision aides you can use to maintain your normal acitivies such as large print books, large button calculators and phones, playing cards with large numbers, checks in larger size and bolder print, and many more!

After the doctors examination, we will begin to work with the various magnifiers and will be able to determine the type and power of magnifier that works best for you.  If you have special books or things you would like to be able to read, we ask that you bring them with you.  Our goal is to find the vision aide that works best for you and is comfortable for you to use.

If you desire one of the reading machines, we have a demonstration piece in our office for you to try.  There are several types and price ranges and we work with a low vison specialist who will bring a machine to your home, teach you how to use it and leave it for a trial period to be sure it will work for you.

If you or a love one would like to know if vision aides would help in you, please call our office to schedule a low vision examination.  We will answer all of your questions and work with you to see if any of the vision options will work for you.
